As an additional project to my street photography I would love to build up a list with the best fashion stores you can find out there. No matter if it is a fancy boutique selling young designers or a small second hand store, as long as it has the je ne sais quois. I am not looking for H&M, Zara or Gucci etc., but for the smaller and special ones, often hard to find. For this project I need your help. More details about it soon to come. And this is the first store: ALEXA’S in Munich.

Why should you go there? If you are looking for vintage clothing in Munich, Alexa’s is where to go. She opened her store in 1985 in a small street just around the corner of Viktualienmarkt. And she is still there - a true institution! Any time I stop by I can feel that Alexa really loves what she is doing. Her shop is always good for a great find. No wonder I bought some of my favorite fashion items there.

What can you get there? Vintage clothing, shoes and accessories mostly from the 60ies and 70ies for both women and men. So chances are quite big that you can find some unique pieces hardly anyone else is wearing.

Price level (low/medium/high/luxury)? Medium. Due to the fact that the vintage items are generally in good condition the prices are absolutely ok.

Bestsellers? At the moment, Alexa sells quite a lot of vintage sunglasses. I love sunglasses! And one of the Selecta models I might have to get for myself.

Wow-item? Difficult choice this time. There is a very rare Ossie Clark dress on the one hand…

… and a 60ies brocade cocktail coat on the other.

What do you think? I go for the cocktail coat.

MIT was playing a gig - I loved it! Three young guys from Germany making extremely energetic music with German lyrics. Sound reminds me of Atari Teenage Riot. Keep an eye on them!

This is the last style from Hamburg for this time. Family ruled. Next time I’ll be out there some more time to stylehunt for you. Promise.

I loved this balcony above the roofs of Altona. Especially with this great light we had. Must be a perfect place for a barbecue with friends.

We went to a cafe only once. There I took this picture. Most of the time we were walking around, just drifting. Love that.

On the last day I visited the exhibition of Daniel Richter in the Hamburger Kunsthalle. I loved his huge paintings: expressive and in a unique way narrative. Very inspiring. Don’t miss it when you come to Hamburg. The guy with the black hat is me looking at Gregor Schneider’s Cube Hamburg which is placed in front of the Hamburger Kunsthalle.

Hamburg was really great, but actually I spent quite some time with family and my cute little niece. It’s so great to just sit there and watch her playing. Amazing! Children are the light of this world indeed. Of course I had to show you some pictures of her. Love her Style!

Back in Munich. And there is something I would like to know from you: which size do you prefer when clicking on the pictures to enlarge? The first two pictures are the smaller size that I used so far. The last picture is a little bigger. So which is better? Small or big?

The next three days I’ll be in Hamburg. And I can’t wait to find out about Hamburg’s streetstyle. I’ll post the best shots after being back in Munich.

This girl was sitting outside a cafe as her outfit caught my eye. The yellow blanket of the cafe together with her purple skinnies and red flip flops. Great combi of strong colors.

Each time, I go by this tiny balcony in the heart of Munich it puts a smile in my face. It´s just big enough for two people and yet a oasis of style. A true favorite balcony.
